Privacy Policy
Trekky stores the information needed to run your private workspace, optional Google integrations, AI workflows, and billing. This page explains the boundaries.
We do not sell your data, run ads, or use your private job search data to train public AI models.
Trekky is a job-search workspace based in New Zealand. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how optional integrations work, and how you can control or delete your data.
We handle personal information in line with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. We do not sell your data, show advertising, or use your private job-search data to train public AI models.
When you create an account, we collect your email address. If you use Google sign-in, we receive basic profile information from Google, such as your name and profile picture, for authentication and display.

This data is scoped to your account and used to provide the Trekky service back to you.
AI features are powered by Google's Gemini API. When you ask Trekky to tailor a resume, classify a role, parse a win, draft a cover letter, or benchmark salary, we send only the text needed for that task.
If you enable Gmail Inbox Sync, Trekky sends Gmail sender, subject, snippet, date, message/thread IDs, and your job-card company and role context to Gemini so it can classify job updates and prepare draft replies where appropriate.
We use a paid API tier under which Google states prompts are not used to train its models. Trekky does not use your private resumes, notes, jobs, or Google-derived data to train generalized AI or ML models.
Google Calendar is optional. If you connect it, Trekky uses the calendar.events scope to create, update, delete, and read Trekky-created interview events so your in-app calendar stays in sync. Trekky-created video interview events include a generated Google Meet link.
We store the Google Calendar event ID linked to your job card so later edits can update or remove the same event. Calendar events may include company, role, interview time, timezone, interview type, notes, and reminder settings.
We do not read or modify unrelated calendar events. You can disconnect in Trekky, choose to keep or delete Trekky-created events, or revoke access from your Google account permissions.
Gmail sync is optional. If you connect Gmail, Trekky requests read access to find job-related email and compose access to save reply drafts for your review.
We store only message metadata and workflow data: sender, subject, short snippet, date, Gmail message/thread IDs, our classification, draft IDs, draft errors, and generated draft text when a draft is useful or needs retry. We do not store full message bodies or attachments, never send email on your behalf, and never draft replies to rejections.
For classification, Trekky sends Gmail sender, subject, snippet, date, message/thread IDs, and your job-card company and role context to Gemini. Trekky does not use Gmail data for advertising or to train generalized AI models.
Disconnecting Gmail deletes stored email metadata from Trekky. You can also revoke access from your Google account permissions.
Trekky's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including Limited Use requirements.
Paid subscriptions are processed by Stripe. Trekky receives your subscription status and Stripe customer ID so we can manage access, but we do not see or store your full card number, CVV, or billing address.

We use HTTPS for transmission, secure database hosting, authentication controls, and encryption for sensitive connected-account data.
Your data is retained while your account is active. You can delete your account and associated data from Account Settings. No method of storage or transmission is perfect, so use a strong, unique password.
Trekky uses trusted providers to operate the service:
Some providers may process data outside New Zealand. We take reasonable steps to choose providers with appropriate privacy and security practices.
You can access, update, correct, delete, and request export of your data.

We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and maintain your session. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will publish the revised policy and, where appropriate, notify you by email or in-app message.
